Might get expensive. 10 cost ya $237 with shipping included. Ouch.

Re: 2007 Koala

I am pre-selling these for $18.99 each, and I have 175 left. I expect to receive mine next week. I ordered them last month but they are apparently on a slow boat from Australia.:bear_rolleyes:

FYI, the Koalas are supposed to turn into a series to replace the Kookaburras.

Re: 2007 Koala

Yeah, those Australians have no clue 'bout making coins, do they?

I might order a few, but I'm still working on my body weight in 1 oz dragons.

No tax return yet. I thought I'd have it by now. But, I do have some rain-day cash in the safe and I know how much I'm getting back from taxes. I may have to give myself a "loan" and do some shopping this weekend. Now comes the fun part of conducting my list. :bull-smile:

20 or more, not a hundred. Still, 20 is a lot when the premium is that high.

yeah tell me about it, a 1oz silver coin costs A$35 when spot is about A$18.. shocking.
was thinking of ordering some from overseas companies i found on the web which were cheaper then the mint.
but guess what they(most) Don't sell outside the US and Canada hehe
talk about morons they have an online store accessable from anywhere in the world and only sell in North America.
i would love to have a couple of the silver set coins but with the premium i'll concentrate on bullion bars :( ..for now

My koalas arrived in the mail earlier this week. They're nice, but I think I like the lunars better. Also, all of the plastic cases they were in looked kind of cloudy, which really detracts from the appearance of the coins.

I've already ordered a couple...........I might double that....paid $18.99 too - for $2 I am not going to worry if I could have paid a dollar less - cause Jennifer is such a good deal on these silver coins, I'll get my $2 back on the next deal.......or shipping!

Can't we buy replacement cases? How much can they cost?

You two are silly...........

Koalas are nocturnal - you have to wait till they are up at night to order!

those are the magic numbers for them to be sold.

I wonder why they didn't just leave them on the site and put the minimum price at $17.85, no matter what spot is (then increase the price as spot goes up)? It seems rather odd to be taking them on and off.

I just ordered from jen at 18.50.

I am truly amazed at all you bullion hogs willing to pay a $4-5 premium for a one oz silver coin. just think about that premium as a percentage of overall price for a minute. for me, it's worth the fun value of occasionally eyeballing that little piece of pretty metal hiding in a shoebox under my dirty socks.

Re: 2007 Koala

seems like these coins dont gain much respect

http://search.ebay.com/search/search...=34%26fsoo%3D2

i've been watching a few auctions of these and they dont seem to have the bidding like the lunars or kookaburras

Re: 2007 Koala

I like the Koalas, but not as much as the Lunars. I still need to pickup the 2008 but haven't found a decent deal yet.

Re: 2007 Koala

This deal closed out at $20.52, yikes.:no_ma:

Sometimes I hate how old threads get revived. I'm practically peeing myself at the opportunity to pickup koalas at 18.99 and then see the post date is months ago. just for spite I went and bumped all the ebay bids although I'm not winning any of them.

Koalas dont sell well... You can buy them for the same price as kooks from online dealers but kooks sell much better. APMEX has alot of them now

Rebel Yarr 05-19-2008 11:56 PM

Re: 2007 Koala

I agree Kooks are more appealing to me too. However, I do think the Koala is one of the better modern designs....not intended to be a clasic design like the kook.

Re: 2007 Koala

They aren't horrible, but they look a little too cute, which leaves the impression that they aren't as "esteemed" as some other coins.

Have to disagree with you on this point, Jennifer.
The present market for Kooks easily exceeds its restricted annual mintage of 300,000
So the Perth Mint is forced to introduce another bullion coin to soak up the surplus demand.

For the record - Jennifer's post was a year and a half ago........2-27-2007.........at that time, that was what we had been told.........if she were around today (she closed her shop to move onto other projects about 6 months or so ago) she might have a different take on this now.

continuing my penchant to post a picture for any coin that I happen to own that is under discussion---

PS: I like this effect with this coin though the background in Georgia is hardly eucalyptus.

And in a year and a half time, there will probably be a different answer.
Some of these Perth Mint staff make it up as they go. They are just as clueless.
Requested the mintage for the 2006 Skippy dollar last year from the Royal Australian Mint. The answer they gave me didn't tally with those in my catalogue.
